She watches, her eyes wide
Her cubs, she watches with pride.
A lion, spies them sitting
He approaches.
She panics,
as the lion approaches.
She knows,
her children's doom.
A moment of clarity,
she stands, and runs.
The lion sees her,
and runs after.
The cubs flee,
their mother runs.
The lion's glee,
turns to disgust.
As the mothers speed,
outruns the lions power.
The cubs and mother escape,
to live and prowl the landscape.
Her cubs, she watches with pride.
A lion, spies them sitting
He approaches.
She panics,
as the lion approaches.
She knows,
her children's doom.
A moment of clarity,
she stands, and runs.
The lion sees her,
and runs after.
The cubs flee,
their mother runs.
The lion's glee,
turns to disgust.
As the mothers speed,
outruns the lions power.
The cubs and mother escape,
to live and prowl the landscape.
Diction:I would talk about diction because of the of how basic the words are contrasting to how scared the animals are.
ReplyDeleteStructure: I think that the structure is important because it seems pretty choppy while the actions of these animals are normally smooth. This contrast could be discussed.
Imagery: The imagery in this poem also strengthens this poem and could be discussed in a commentary. This is because they are strong images.
Where you talk about structure being choppy, do you mean that it is broken up into different paragraphs? I did this while not thinking about the structure, I actually did it to make the different scenes and different emotions going through the story appear more singular and separated from each other.
